About GasMeUp

The short version: one person, one script, one answer.

I'm Vaughn Fisher, a learning designer in San José, California, and the person who built GasMeUp. It started as a personal script for deciding where to fill up. After about a year of using it I'd saved around $300 on gas, and friends kept asking for a version they could use. GasMeUp is that version: the same math, live prices, and a straight answer.

The idea is simple. The cheapest sign isn't always the cheapest fill-up, because the drive to the station costs money too. GasMeUp scans live prices around you, counts the detour into every one, and puts the Best Pick one tap away. On long drives, Highway Mode scans the road ahead and shows the best stop before you reach it.

Why it's paid

The app is paid by design: $1.99 a month, or $17.99 a year with a 7-day free trial. There are no ads, no sponsored stations, and no selling of user data. Live scans cost real money to run, and a small subscription is what keeps the answer honest.

Who runs it
