GasMeUp is a paid iPhone and Android app that scans live gas prices around you and ranks every station by what the fill-up really costs, including the drive to get there.
Description
GasMeUp answers one question: where's the cheapest fill-up that's worth the drive? One tap scans live prices at the stations nearby, prices in the detour, and hands you the answer instead of a map of pins. On road trips, Highway Mode scans the road ahead and shows the best stop before you reach it, exit by exit.
The app is paid by design: $1.99 a month, or $17.99 a year with a 7-day free trial. There are no ads, no sponsored stations, and no selling of user data. Live scans cost real money to run, and a small subscription is what keeps the answer honest.
About the founder
Vaughn Fisher is a learning designer in San José, California, and the solo builder of GasMeUp. The app began as a personal script for deciding where to fill up; over a year of using it, he saved about $300 on gas, and friends kept asking for a version they could use. GasMeUp is that version: the same math, live prices, and a straight answer. He built it nights and weekends with no funding and no team, and he answers the support inbox himself. Vaughn is available for interviews and can share more materials on request.
