Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
GasMeUp ("we," "us," or "the app") helps you find good-value fuel near you. This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built GasMeUp to work without an account — we collect as little as we can to do the job.
Information we collect
- Location. When you run a scan, the app uses your device's location to find gas stations near you and, in Highway Mode, along the road ahead. Location is used to perform the scan you request; we don't track your location continuously in the background.
- Usage and diagnostic data. We collect app events (for example, that a scan happened, or that a screen was viewed) and basic technical information (device type, operating system version, app version) to keep the app working and improve it.
- Subscription status. If you start a free trial or subscribe, your purchase is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play and our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We receive your subscription status (for example, active or expired). We never see or store your payment-card details.
- Push notification token. If you opt in to price alerts, your device provides a notification token so we can send you those alerts. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
We do not require your name, email address, or an account to use GasMeUp.
How we use your information
- To find and rank fuel options near you when you scan.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app and its features.
- To send price alerts you have opted in to receive.
- To manage your subscription and provide customer support.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the app, and only as needed for them to perform their service:
- Google — fuel-price and place data used to answer your scans.
- Supabase — secure backend hosting and database for the app.
- RevenueCat — subscription management.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Expo — delivery of push notifications, if you opt in.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, or as required by law. Diagnostic and usage data are retained in aggregated or limited form to operate and improve the app.
Your choices and rights
- Location: you can allow or deny location access in your device settings. Without it, the app cannot scan for nearby stations.
- Notifications: you can turn price alerts off at any time in your device settings.
- Access or deletion: to request access to or deletion of information associated with your device, contact us at the email below.
Depending on where you live (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EEA/UK under the GDPR), you may have additional rights regarding your personal information. Contact us to exercise them.
Children
GasMeUp is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Accuracy of fuel prices
Fuel prices shown in the app come from third-party sources and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. GasMeUp does not guarantee any specific price or savings. Always confirm the price at the pump.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
